Pain Management Talk — Chronic Pain

Targets:
People with Musculoskeletal Pain (especially those young or middle aged)

Objectives:
(1). To increase participants’ understanding on chronic pain;
(2). To arouse participants’ awareness on the importance of self-management.

Contents:
(1) Pain is a common problem. You are not alone.
(2) Acute vs. chronic pain.
(3) Pain is not necessarily link to a disease. It can be a result of failure in “alarm system”.
(4) Multi-modality Intervention
(5) Establish realistic expectation & role of patient
(6) Pain Cycle & its impacts
(7) Self-management is an effective way to break the Pain Cycle
(8) Community resources
